What is one of the major problems with the war in Afghanistan? Just your friendly, neighborhood home made arms, and the open air market that sells them.
The famed Khyber Pass is home to some of the most entrepreneurial and passionate people on the face of the planet. From the video, these people believe in "many sons, and many guns." In a normal world, I'd say that is a good thing to have; in this region, it often means dead US soldiers. To me, that means just one more reason as to why we are fighting a war on a front which is not winnable but only manageable. The video itself is dated 2006 with an edit and tack on from 2009. The situation hasn't changed all that much removed from either of those dates.
If you scroll down the article, it does take a pot shot at the NRA for it's devout opposition to the UN and it's international arms trade "regulation" schemes. My question is in that region where for thousands of years, conquerors have failed to master the terrain and the people, how does even the UN think it will be able to regulate what is a pure black market? Simple answer is, that it can't, and it won't.
This post did not start out as one about our 2A rights, but it certainly is a nail in the coffin of the bureaucrat that believe they can control us, even from their "high perch" in New York. If anyone for any minute can watch this video and believe the UN is sincere in stopping "small arms trade of illicit and illegal guns" throughout the world, then you are either a libtard, a Utopian, an idiot, or just plan naive.

Hellfire vs. Sniper; Which One is Your Bet On?
What happens when a hellfire missile from an Apache meets up with a sniper hanging out in his hide? Only this.
I can only imagine that he felt no pain, which was far to good for him. However, one less Jihadist in the world is one less Jihadist in the world. Now, if we could just convince our political leaders (and our allies in the International Security Assistance Force) that we don't need to be spending 100k a hellfire to take out insurgents, then we might actually win over there.

Bin Laden: USA After Action Report
The following is purely opinion, but one that I find needs to be written.
1 May 2011, 22:45
FLASH TRAFFIC:
BIN LADEN, DOA.
REPEAT, BIN LADEN, DOA
That was the news last night around 10:30 EDT, and man was it some good news! I admit, I partook in staying up until the early hours of Monday, gaining a sense of the speculation by the MSM (mostly wrong as they fondled themselves to talk up Obama and to beat their competitors to the punch) and the reaction to the speculation by the people in the streets (and to a lesser extent, the country). Now that the reaction has died down, and the details have emerged, I find it prudent to express a few more sentiments to support my Tweets from last night (read them via the panel on the home page).
As the day has progressed, I've listened to the talking heads, I've read the retail news outlets, and the blogosphere, and even listened to talk-radio callers fornicate over this great success. Unfortunately, that opinion will not be seen here. Yes, undoubtedly justice has been served, and that is great news (without any discount). Great credit should be given to the nameless and tireless work done by the grunts, the SpecOps, the Spooks and the intel-guys (and gals) who have spent countless man-years (not man-hours), attempting to piece together the mouse crumbs left by, perhaps, the most illusive man on the (then) face of the planet. The preceding sentence should be interrupted as a resounding and major Kudos to those who have given their lives or put their lives in harms way to make the past 36~48 hours (and several prep months before) a resounding success. The .mil and .spook folk "done good" and get a major "atta boy!"
So shall I now begin my qualification of the whole thing; I am not celebrating, and I refuse to celebrate. While this is America, and I would be a bit of a hypocrite to prevent anyone from freely expressing their emotions, ideas, and expressions, I would call these people fools for acting out the celebration one witnessed last night. My reasoning? Simple. Celebrating the death of one individual (a spiritual figurehead of an Islamic militant movement) does not win the War on Terror. There are many whom still wish our citizens and soldiers dead, and further wish our way of life to die a death with which will banish it for perhaps a thousand years (historical reference to be written tomorrow). Further, celebrating the death of humans is not something even great soldiers wish for (namesake of this blog included).
The celebrations I witnessed last night on TV make us as civilized (or barbaric) as our foe. I don't condemn them, but it certainly speaks to how bin Laden's legacy has truly affected our country. As I write what follows this sentence, please realize that I absolutely HATE this analogy, but it must be made. We, as a country, did not celebrate the death of one despotic dictator (Hitler) until the War was officially over, and our troops were brought home to march in armistice parades. Today, that is not happening. Today, the WOT continues, and today, the war against an idea continues.
Ideas supersede martyrs, and wars supersede soldiers (and generals). While I will leave our military actions and interventions to another day's debate, let me continue by saying again, history has been made and this is great news. The families affected by 9/11 have some closure, and closure is certainly welcome for human benefit. Yet let us as a united people not look towards our political leaders for this success, and let us not look at our foe for the status that will surly be lauded upon him. Freedom resides within the hearts and minds of man and I encourage the intelligent readers to remember exactly this and discuss it with their family and friends.
I would hope that as our country moves forward, we take this "battle" win, and learn from it. Perhaps this small, tireless effort to bring justice will be the next step in the War on Terror, and thus shape the battle field away from the protracted natures we have found ourselves in. I pen this as a wish of mine, for the people o the front lines, as well as our country whom tires here at home of extended engagements. Though, the last thought in all of this is that we, the American People, know how to fight. We are not weak, and we will always be resolute for justice and that freedom based upon that justice within our society. Of course, we encourage the entire world to join us in this endeavor, but it is up to the citizens of other countries to make this happen.
To sign off...ObL, you have lost the battle, you have lost the war. Regardless of the political leadership's imperial policies, the people realize what freedom means, and we realize what justice means. We have served justice, and unfortunately for you, it was not vengeful (for the most part) but righteous.

We're for These Guys?
Just so we are clear here, these are the rag tag rebels that we are spending $100 million+ a day on? I am just a bit curious to know precisely what is our return on investment? Is it oil? Perhaps it's the hearts and minds of men? Or will it be more Islamo-fascists hating our "imperialism" and "Zionism?"
These are our monsters?

Religion of Peace? Not So Fast My Friend!
Islam is the Religion of Peace? Really? I can't fathom that assessment from this news story and accompanying poster.
Apparently the Muslim faith has produced a new 12 days of Christmas for us to gaze upon. Well, sorry there Jihad Jane, that just ain't gonna fly in this country. So, take your non-pork eating, Christmas hating, alcohol deflecting, non-debt using, oil scamming, oppium trading, homicide bombing ass back to the stone age and leave me to my religion of peace.
Oh, and if ya don't...I'll hunt ya down and kill ya dead twice as good as your imam will ever instruct you to do.
I find it rich that a bunch of Islamofascists can blame Christmas, Christ, and the Christian faith for things like domestic violence. Hello Pot, meet Mr. Kettle! Real rich! Last I checked, bigotry, polygamy, rape, and murder are all acceptable punishments for non-believe, or even the non-compliance with the Sharia Laws.
I guess that is all we should expect from the radical bastards that are hell bent on restoring Persia to it's place at the top of the empirical food chain.

Fifteen Year Old Arrested for Koran Burning
Say what?
Granted, yes, it is semi-insightful, but who are we kidding here? Condemning a misguided youth for an expressive act when there are Islamofascists who encourage children her age to maim and kill solely in the name of Alah?
How's that political correctness and religious tolerances working out for ya there Brits?
And they wonder why England is a nation in social, moral, and economic decay?A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after allegedly burning an English language version of the Koran.

The Piggy That Won't Cry "Wee Wee Wee" All the Way Home
I have known that we in the US were screwed for a long time, but as for our friends in the UK, they're royally screwed (pun intended).
From the UK Independent, the short story is that a mother bought a toy farm which contained no pig. When she contacted the manufacture, she got a response that customer feedback was poor and due to the pig, so it was removed on the grounds of "religious reasons."
So, let me get something straight. Islamofascists that are invading Britain left and right, and are in real probability of out numbering the Brits, are forcing toy companies to give up their pigs in their farm toys? Someone needs a reality check!

Political Marketing: Burkahs vs. Nudes & the TSA
Someone should really tell the TSA about this campaign going on in Switzerland! Visual imagery certainly is a very powerful tool when used in the right ways. If the TSA was trying to prevent terrorisim, perhaps all they would need to do is post a few of these campaign posters in airports around the country. Then again, I'm sure some religious zealot will be offended by the naked women, or the tacky portrayal of women in Burkahs. Oh well, tough noggies!
Obviously the Swiss People's Party (SVP) get's "it." They realize the infestation amongst their country by criminals and terrorists of foreign nationality (and citizenship) and they are attempting to show just what could happen to their country if they let the radical Islamofascists legislate their morality. Certainly, it is a drastic and dramatic portrayal of the consequences of inaction, but as we see here in the USA, drastic and extreme are now the new normal. Further, it goes to show that if other nations are willing to control their own border, why isn't that part of our comprehensive, homeland and airport security initiative?
Extending this thought process to our TSA friends and their new groping protocols, we are left to ask just how are we willing to defend our freedoms? It's plainly evident that we have no freedom of mobility anymore, because submitting to molestation is now a condition of free travel. Kudos terrorists, you win, we lose! So where does this leave us?
Currently, as many have written, we are forced to waive our rights as Americans and falsely trade our freedom for the illusion of security. Some reports have even proposed going the biometrics route for pilots and frequent fliers on an ID card, which would be yet another feeble and costly failure to better control the traveling public. If hackers and terrorists can scan, hack, and clone RFID Passports as of four years ago, what makes us think another piece of paper and silicon will make us more protected? Short answer, it won't.
As any good security consultant will tell you, metal detectors, millimeter wave scanners, and pat downs are all passive or reactive counter measures to highly motivated people. Focusing our efforts on looking for the device rules out perhaps the most dangerous weapon in the terrorism game; the human mind. While following the various talking heads and blogs for the last week, it isn't hard to hear the term Israelification. It's a simple strategy really, and relies heavily upon deception detection, and get this, looking into the thoughts and actions of other humans. The main piece of intel that our TSA fails to collect, the Israelis focus nearly all of their resources upon, and all without touching people's junk

Quran Burning vs. Christian Hating
Let's get some things straight! What's worse, 50 no-name church members whom the media should have ignored for their radical agenda to desecrate another religion (which, by the way is the epitome of intolerance and non-christian ways) or 200 American flag burning, christian hating Islamo-fascists chanting in Afghanistan?
Obviously, if you are the sane, liberal, moderate, or even a conservative American, you probably feel that the morons in Florida are doing nothing good with their little political stunt. (Noticed that I called it a political stunt). Sure, they have a right to speak out against Islam as not being a true religion because in their minds Christianity is the only religion, but here they have just created the same whacked out philosophy that the Islamo-fascists use for their jihad. Further, the dolts in the media give these morons credibility and credence. If the statist-dino-media members weren't so in the tank for Obama's American destruction agenda, they would have never brought this to the forefront of national attention. Coverage of said Quran burning affords more dead soldiers to Obama (increasing his clout to get them out of Afghanistan), as well as his ultimate goal of diminished validity to spirituality's role in the American civil society.
So, back to the original point, what's worse? Fifty whack jobs that will go away in a few weeks, never to be heard from again, or nearly one-billion extremists in the making? The Quran burning event hasn't even happened yet and the outrage from the Islamonut world is already in a fever-pitch, decrying Death to Christians, Death to the infidels, fire on Zion, and any other battle cry they have. Yet it was inappropriate for us to question their motives in where they wanted to put a mosque near ground zero as their historical, religious war, victory marker? EHRRRRNT! Sorry. Not even close.
When a people's political system encourages outright war on non-believers and the brainwashed masses are empowered to believe death is a great sacrifice, it seems we need to modify their behavior. The pastor's act is deplorable at best and certainly immoral even on a Christian metaphysical level, but so too is war against a country's people who just want to be left the hell alone. If the kiddies in Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon want to play nice in the sandbox, we will as well. But, if beheading people for drawing cartoons of Mohammad or worse, just simply believing in Christianity doesn't fit in with your fawta, then consequences of your actions are on you.

NYC Mosque vs Pentagon Prayers vs Gov Overlords
Amendment I: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.Oh the calamity! First there was a proposed mosque near ground zero. Then there were people who oppose the mosque. Then there are the opposers of the opposers, and now calls for investigations into those who are in favor and those who aren't in favor of the said mosque! Oh, and by the way, there is also a room inside the Pentagon where Muslims pray! Forget the calamity, OH THE HUMANITY!
If you haven't read America Alone by Mark Steyn, then you should. It will certainly help you understand what I am about to tell you in better light. First, let us realize that peaceful Islam, even when peaceful, is nothing more than an adjunct political system that is hell bent on world domination. Don't take my word for it, just listen to the bat nuts like the imam who is behind the NYC kick to the proverbial USA's nuts. He will tell you that the USA has more blood on it's hands than the radical islmofascists do. Feisal Adbul Taufand I will agree to disagree on that last doozey, simply because of the fact that I am an ignorant American. (Sarcasm people, please read between the tea leaves).
Look, let's get some things straight. Number one, jihadists have brought "blood on the hands" upon themselves. True, the USA tends to act like an empire and thus it meddles, unnecessarily at times, in foreign affairs. Unlike what Imam Rauf has said, Iraq was responsible for the death of millions of Muslim people. Iran was responsible for the hostage crisis. Jihadists blew up the Cole and Khobar towers and were even fought by our fourth President, Thomas Jefferson, when they were busy being Barbary Pirates. Hell, not even the Islamists can agree on the Islam! Some are Sunni some are Shiite. Others still want complete Shaira law for the whole world! Instead of agreeing amongst themselves, they blow one another up and yet, we're the intolerant ones?
Then there are government overlords. Hiding behind the same first amendment that we use, they claim to "defend" and condemn us all at the same time. Enter the Guinness Guys: BRILLIANT! Here's the thing, no one gives a rats donkey whether these people build their Mosque or not. Quite frankly, most of America acknowledges they have the full right to build it where they want. If you choose to build it there oh Friar peddler of the Islam, don't be surprised if there is some vigilante justice going on. I'm not asking for it, I'm just saying you take the chance. It's the type of justice we would expect from your ilk if we were to put a Catholic Cathedral five blocks next to Mecca. You claim to be "tolerant" of our USA laws and culture, yet you fail to realize just how tolerant we are of your "political system."
Simple, people don't care how you worship, or where, as long as you are "sensitive" to the noble deaths of our citizens. You know, the ones that your ilk murdered. No one has gone bat crap crazy over a multi-use prayer room where DoD Muslims pray from time to time. That is the spirit of America, and we are ok with that, even if you aren't. Most of us understood shortly after 9/11 that those of you in the middle east have the same empirical wishes that the USA leadership has. Fine, well and good, do it on your own turf! Leave us out of it. If you don't, and you haven't, be ready for an ass whoopin! We get that your history dating back to Mesopotamia has that conquering nature and we conquer to make friends and, well, stick around for a while. You're just pissed that you hadn't thought about that idea in the last two thousand years.
Well, ok. So I've digressed. Case in point, the Islamofascists are being their usual ass-hatter selves, and expect us to alter our culture to fit theirs. They have tried and succeeded widely in Europe and now they come to the last bastion of freedom, shinning upon the hill and they're biting off more than they can chew. Newsflash retards, Washington doesn't represent some 75% of the USA if you haven't checked lately. That figure is more than 2x as high as the colonies' dissatisfaction with the English crown when we revolted, so don't get too comfy. Us Americans sometimes favor a good old fashioned beat down, and we're gonna continue to beat you down until you give up through good old fashioned American "astroturfing."
Tax Dollars for Mosques
Along with the slap in the face less than 5 blocks from ground zero. Unbeknown to most, we have been funding the travels of the imam behind the NYC Mosque. Oh, and if that's not bad enough, we are also paying to refurbish several high profile Mosques over seas!
Excellent allocation of funds! We're in a recession, headed towards a depression, and we can fund Mosque refurbishments in other countries! Empire gone south we have become!

House Speaker Admits to Dem AstroTurfing!
Nit wit Speaker Pelosi has just admitted that the Dems and their minions AstroTurf! Well, ok, maybe she didn't specifically say that, but let's read between the lines. Heard here, Madam Speaker has called for an investigation into the funding of the opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque.
Think like your enemy if you wish to defeat them, the problem being for our radical leadership, it's not so easy to think like us. We're normal, you're not.
"And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded."FUNDED!?? Funded? Really Speaker BELOW-ME? You think that everyone that opposes you is funded by the vast right-wing conspiracy? Perhaps you think that opposition to the Ground Zero Muslim Community Center is being funded because it is how your side operates?
Think like your enemy if you wish to defeat them, the problem being for our radical leadership, it's not so easy to think like us. We're normal, you're not.

Mr. President, Israel Means Business
Zero Hedge has an memo published by VIPS (Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity) to the President detailing the dire situation that is manifesting in the Middle East. The memo is extremely long, but a worth while read.
If you have been following the non-USA news lately, you would know that Lebanon and Israeli tensions hit another flash point this week and border skirmishes have kicked off yet again. It is apparent that Israel is staring to feel they are backed into a corner, with no where to go, along with an American administration that will probably do nothing to support them, unless forced. Israel knows how to play the fiddle and force America into support, despite the US's apprehensions, or so the memo explains.
The memo is too detailed to really summarize here with my lack of concrete understanding on Middle Eastern politics but it is simple enough for the laymen to get a good idea of where we are headed. The main factor to take home is that Israel seems to want regime change in Iran and they are less concerned with nuclear weapons as they are the body politic of the Iranian leadership. As you will read, this "baiting" strategy is familiar to the world, circa 2003. Go figure, another intelligence piece that wants to advert another war of preemption which seems to be the modern norm.
So, I'll pose the question to my readership; With hindsight always being 20-20 and the philosophical fight between good and evil always a metaphysical relevant, if you were President, what would you do?

The main factor to take home is that Israel seems to want regime change in Iran and they are less concerned with nuclear weapons as they are the body politic of the Iranian leadership. As you will read, this "baiting" strategy is familiar to the world, circa 2003. Go figure, another intelligence piece that wants to advert another war of preemption which seems to be the modern norm.
So, I'll pose the question to my readership; With hindsight always being 20-20 and the philosophical fight between good and evil always a metaphysical relevant, if you were President, what would you do?
